This stunning painting is by Abbott Fuller Graves. The artist trained in Boston and Paris but would eventually call Kennebunkport home. His prairie-style house, similar to the modern houses by Frank Lloyd Wright, is a short walk from The Judge's house. The Lewis T. Graves memorial library (named in honor of Grave's son) is directly across the street from The Judge's house. Newspaper articles also tell of dinner parties and events at which The Judge and Graves socialized. How much did The Judge respect artists and art?
